Lift Your Eyes is made by Oscar Nogueira Neto, an individual developer based in Florida, USA ("we", "us").

1. Apple's Standard License Agreement

Your use of the Lift Your Eyes app is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"), together with the additional terms on this page. If these additional terms conflict with the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA controls.

2. What Lift Your Eyes does

Lift Your Eyes helps you memorize Bible verses while you use your phone less. You choose apps, categories or websites to pause. When you open one, you can review a verse in Lift Your Eyes, and the paused apps open for a while. Verses you learn stay in your reviews over time.

The app works only on your iPhone. It has no accounts and does not store your data on our servers. Our Privacy Policy explains what stays on your device and what is sent when you send feedback.

3. Subscription and free trial

  • Lift Your Eyes needs an active subscription to start your daily verses and pause apps. New subscribers can start with a free 7-day trial, then a yearly subscription. The current price is shown in the App Store and in the app before you confirm.
  • The purchase is made through your Apple Account and handled by Apple. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
  • You can cancel at any time in iOS Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions, or from Settings > Manage subscription in the app. If you cancel during the free trial, you will not be charged, and the app keeps working until the trial ends.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. We cannot issue refunds ourselves. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • When your subscription or trial ends, the app stops pausing apps. Your learned verses and settings stay on your iPhone, and you can pick up where you left off if you subscribe again.
  • We may change the price or the plans in the future. Apple will tell you in advance, as its rules require, and a price increase will not apply to a period you have already paid for.

4. Screen Time, the pause screen and the emergency exit

  • Lift Your Eyes uses Apple's Screen Time features to pause the apps you choose. You stay in control: you choose what is paused and when, and you can change it at any time in the app.
  • Emergency exit. If you need your phone right away, hold the emergency exit button in the app for 10 seconds. Every block turns off until the end of the current blocking window (midnight, in All day mode). You can also remove the app's access in iOS Settings > Screen Time, or delete the app; iOS then removes the blocks.
  • Screen Time scheduling is run by iOS. We work to make blocks turn on and off on time, but we cannot guarantee that they always will. For example, a block may end late, or not apply, because of an iOS issue. Do not rely on Lift Your Eyes to keep you from reaching an app or website when that matters for safety, health, work or legal reasons.
  • If you are responsible for someone else's phone, note that Lift Your Eyes is designed for a person to use on their own iPhone. It is not a parental control app.

5. Not medical or professional advice

Lift Your Eyes is a tool for Scripture memory and for building habits. It is not a treatment for addiction, anxiety or any other condition, and it does not replace advice from a doctor, counselor or pastor. If you are struggling, please reach out to someone you trust or to a professional.

6. Bible texts and content

  • The verse texts are from the King James Version and the World English Bible, which are in the public domain.
  • The selection of verses, the verse sets and their descriptions, the app's design, text and artwork, and the name Lift Your Eyes belong to us. The Standard EULA lets you use the app; it does not give you rights to copy or redistribute these.
  • Verse sets are chosen and checked by people. If you find a mistake, please tell us.

7. Feedback

  • If you send us feedback, please do not include information you do not want us to have, such as someone else's personal details.
  • Do not use the feedback form to send unlawful, abusive or automated messages. We may ignore or delete such messages.
  • If you send a suggestion, you allow us to use it to improve Lift Your Eyes without any obligation to you. We will not publish your message or your name without asking you first.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will update the date at the top and explain it in the app's release notes. If you keep using the app after a change, the updated terms apply. If you do not agree, you can stop using the app and cancel your subscription.

9. Governing law

These additional terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, except where the law of your country gives you rights that cannot be waived. The Standard EULA sets its own governing law for the license it grants.
